Peter Furneaux Says He Voted 'Yes'!

GRIMSBY Town chairman Peter Furneaux is reported to have confirmed that he voted in favour of the new player loan changes at the Football League AGM.

"Last season whenever we wanted a player we had to go out and get a loan signing because we didn't have the depth in the reserves, so the move last weekend by the clubs to extend the number of loan players that you can have next season was just a sensible thing to do from our point of view."

"I think it's probably a sign of the times and is bound to save some money. I don't think that many clubs have too much cash to spare so it didn't come as any great surprise to me that the proposal was passed."

In other news Michael Boulding who is reported to be having a trial with Middlebrough in mid July said "My agent has told me that everything will be quiet for the next few weeks and that's fine by me."

"I'm enjoying the break and recharging my batteries and trying to forget football for a few weeks. My future will be sorted out when I get back from my holidays."

David Smith who has been informed that he will not be offered a new contract has signed a one year contract with Swansea.

Paul Wilkinson is also reported to be taking up a new position with Grimsby in player development as Town have decided to not run a reserve team this coming season.
