Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

October Player of the Month

By: Tony Hamilton
Date: 03/11/2002

HERE are October's nominations for Player of the Month. Remember you the readers of the Fishy can vote on all of theses players in the Question of the week, so look for it and get voting

Home > 2002-2003 Season > Player of the Month > October

Steve Kabba (Forward). Signed on loan from Crystal Palace for three months and has been a revelation when he was added to our front line. Hopefully the Club will see sense and keep him at Blundell Park when his loan period is up, and is player of the month for September.
Appearances 6. Goals 5.
Iain Ward (Defender). A local lad who's come through the youth ranks and has been outstanding this month when put into the first team. The Grimsby-born defender can play either left or right back and never looks out of place in the first team.
Appearances 5(1). Goals 0.
Georges Santos (Midfield). Georges gave Town something different in midfield when he signed on a short-term contract, but as again in his career has had a problem with his discipline and if he sorted this problem out would do a job for any League team.
Appearances 4(1). Goals 0.
Steve Livingstone (Forward). Steve has been Mr Dependable when he's pulled on the Black and White striped shirt, and since overcoming a serious injury earlier this season, has proven a good partner to work with Kabba up front.
Appearances 3(2). Goals 1.
Alan Pouton (Midfield). Alan is our engine room in midfield always gives 100% and likes a good scrap when he plays in the team. He does have a problem with picking up bookings which is going to hamper the team at some point during the season.
Appearances 6. Goals 2.
Terry Cooke (Midfield). Started the month off well but now has competition for his place with John Oster being brought to Town on loan, so the former Man Utd winger is going to have to fight for his place more than ever now.
Appearances 3(2). Goals 0.

So there's six players to vote for, and remember the voting forms are on the bottom of the Fishy's match report. So now you know where it is and the next step is to vote for nominations for November's Player of the Month
