Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

Will Give My Best - Keane

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 06/04/2003

NEW Grimsby Town signing Michael Keane said; He would "run until his legs fall off' in a bid to keep the Mariners in the first division. Keane told the Grimsby Telegraph; "I'll do everything the manager asks of me."

"I'll put all the effort in. I'll run until my legs fall off and tackle until I can't tackle no more. Hopefully, I'll give the fans something to cheer about."

"I was in Dublin when I heard about the chance to come to Grimsby. I dived at the chance to come here. When I got fit again after my injury I was pushing and pushing to get back in and telling the manager that I wanted a chance."

"Now I can't wait to do my best for Grimsby. The lads work hard for each other here and that's what I like. Everyone has been friendly, even the kit man! They've got the right attitude and there's a bit of life about the training. Whenever we've played them with Preston they've done well."

Although Keane is not fully match fit after being injured for so long, but he is expected to improve with every game.

"I was out for 23 weeks. It was hard stuff. I feel that I'm back now and ready and fit. I'm going to get sharper with every game. My spell is down as a loan but we'll have to wait and see. I'll be able to tell you better at the end of the seven games!"
