AFTER a hectic day at Blundell Park yesterday, it still goes on today with Danny Coyne finally signing the contract with Leicester City, and Paul Groves revealing that he hopes to tie up a deal to bring in a striker described as "a tall target-man from the lower divisions".

Groves told Radio Humberside; "We want to bring in somebody who's slightly different to somebody we've actually got at the football club. We've got Michael, Darren and David Soames as well. Something slightly different to those, so that we've got one or two options and we can have a look at the best permutation when it comes to partnerships."

Groves is also looking at a new one-year deal for defender Iain Ward and admitted that he had made enquiries about Aiden Davison.

But what also came out was that with the departure of Danny Coyne, there may be some more money in the pot for Groves.

He said: "If Danny Coyne was to leave, then we would have to look at the financial situation at the football club and that would be discussed at board level and once those decisions are made I'm sure that everybody will be made aware of that"
