The Future Of Youth Campaign

By: GTST
Date: 22/06/2004

THE Grimsby Town Supporters Trust, in association with Grimsby Town Football Club and its sponsors Young's, is pleased to announce the re-launch of the Future of Youth Campaign.

The aim of the Campaign, which was first initiated by former youth team coach Paul Wilkinson in 2002, is to invest in the future of Grimsby Town, primarily by paying the wages of first year professionals at the club.

The fruits of the last Future of Youth Campaign are there for all to see. The generous donations made to the Campaign in 2002 enabled Graham Hockless, Greg Young and Kirk Wheeler, all of whom would otherwise have been released, to remain at the club and fulfil their potential.

The reality is that, despite the likes of Wayne Rooney bursting onto the scene at an early age, the majority of young players need time to develop, and through the Future of Youth Campaign, the Trust and its associates are seeking to give Grimsby Town's promising young players that time.

How You Can Help

Tickets are now on sale for the Supporters Trust's Grand Prize Draw. All profits from the Draw, which will be made on Saturday 28 August, will go to the Campaign, whilst the owners of the winning tickets will take home either a brand new Ford KA, a Caribbean holiday for two, or a brand new PC.

The prizes are non football-related in order to appeal to the wider public, and we would ask both Trust members and non-members alike to buy and sell as many tickets as they can.

You can purchase tickets from:

The Club Shop, Blundell Park, or you can contact the GTST below.
