New Stadium Back On The Menu!

GRIMSBY Town could have a new stadium within five years says John Fenty. A new stadium is one of his top priorities and will be working to achieve it.

The Grimsby Telegraph, who broke the news, said that Mr Fenty wants to sit down with North East Lincolnshire Council executives and try to find a way forward.

"The board strongly supports the move to a new stadium." Fenty said.

"We have been looking at a lot of ideas and ways forward, and seeing how other clubs have done it. When a new chief executive is installed at the council we will look to sit down with him and see how we can achieve our aims."

"In the long-term, a new stadium is absolutely essential. It is difficult at this level to find sufficient resources to mount a serious campaign."

"Those clubs which have better stadiums have a better opportunity to do well. We hope to buck that trend in the short-term by way of work ethic and commitment."

Until plans for a new stadium, possibly on the Great Coates site, become clearer, Mr Fenty hopes to increase revenue through the improved corporate facilities at Blundell Park.
