Whittle on Comeback Trail

JUSTIN Whittle made his comeback from an ankle injury in Wednesday's reserve clash with Notts County, which Town won 2-0. The 33-year-old centre-back, who has been out for more than a month with an ankle ligament injury, played for 45 minutes of the game.

Whittle is expected to be in the squad for Saturday's trip to Bristol Rovers, in which the Mariners are looking to record their third consecutive away win for the first time since 1997.

The Youth Team also beat Notts County last night in the Midlands Cup Third Round. Neil Woods' young charges have now been drawn at Port Vale in the next round of the cup.
