Slade to Sign Two Keepers

By: Mariners Net
Date: 07/06/2005

TOWN boss Russell Slade is hoping to tie up deals with two experienced unnamed keepers hopefully within the next few days all being well..

The first stopper, who is currently on holiday, is keen to join the Mariners and will hopefully conclude a deal from his holiday base.

"We are very close to getting a goalkeeper," Slade said. "We have agreed terms with the player, who is away on holiday at the present time. "Via his agent, hopefully we can tie that down in the next couple of days."

And the Town chief describes him as a big keeper with a massive kick. "He's a big presence and he actually kicks the ball miles". Slade also confirms that he is also close to bringing a number two into the club.

"At this moment in time I am in contact with a young keeper, who was at a Championship club last year. He comes with great pedigree and hopefully we can conclude something in the next day or two."
