GRIMSBY Town Reserves have a run out today against Darlington at Blundell Park this afternoon (kick-off 2pm) and Ciaran Toner will be playing after suffering an ankle injury.

Russell Slade said; "Hopefully Ciaran will get a game and we'll take it from there. Both sides have strong squads so there will be a lot of experienced players out there. JP (Kalala) is a little behind Ciaran but will be training this week and hopefully he'll be in contention at the weekend."

"Justin Whittle is still having treatment on his ankle, though, and is two or three days away yet."

On the Saturday game postponement he said; "You risk injury to players when it's like this and as a spectacle anything can happen in the game. As far as we're concerned it may be a blessing. I was already without Jean-Paul Kalala and Ciaran Toner and Paul Bolland's wife had a baby daughter so he wouldn't have played either. It meant we would be struggling in midfield and maybe now it gives those players time to recover".

Town: Lukic, Armstrong (trialist), Edwards (trialist), Downey, Higgins, Barwick, Toner, Wilkinson, Cohen, G Jones, Hegarty. Subs: Richardson, Chamberlain, Ashton, Lamb, North.
