Beat the Bookies: Week 7

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 13/09/2005

LAST week I was on holiday so missed the opportunity to beat on Northern Ireland to beat England (well that's my excuse!). My tip Northampton were winning at Wycombe, but had a man sent off and had to settle for a draw.

Home > 2005-2006 Season > Beat the Bookies > Week 7

This week on bet365.com Grimsby are once more odds on (4/6) to win at home, which - given their recent record at Blundell Park - is not good value for money, even against the division's bottom club. A better bet might be Torquay to win or draw, for which bet365.com are offering Evens in their "Double Chance".

In the rest of the Nationwide League Scunthorpe are once again playing away, this time at bottom club and bitter rivals Doncaster Rovers. Scunny are flying at the moment, and have to be fancied at 17/10 with bet365.com against a Rovers side who have failed to win at home all season.

In League Two, Carlisle are going well, and this week travel to Cheltenham to face the Robins at Whaddon Road. Carlisle are unbeaten away and the Robins are unbeaten at home, but at 2-1 with bet365.com the Cumbrians to win again on their travels is worth a punt.

I have to admit it is difficult to choose between Scunthorpe and Carlisle, but the longer odds means the Cumbrians to win are this week's tip.

RECOMMENDED BET OF THE WEEK:
Carlisle to beat Cheltenham
