GRIMSBY target Martin Paterson is still waiting to be approached by either the Mariners or Stoke according to an interview in the Stoke local press. The 20-year-old told the Stoke Sentinel: "I've had no more contact with Stoke about my contract or any offer from Grimsby".

Paterson was verbally offered a new contract at Stoke at the end of last season, but is still waiting to hear from manager Tony Pulis over the summer. The former Town loan player in the meantime is assuming he will be at the Britannia Stadium next season.

"The new season is still a way off and I certainly haven't ruled out playing a part at Stoke, so I haven't been talking to any clubs about moving.

"I'm still at the club and at the moment I have no other thoughts about where I'm going to be next season. I'm just focused on keeping myself fit so I'm ready for pre-season."

  • Town's pre-season friendly at Brigg has been moved forward a day to Tuesday 17th July (19:30 KO).

  • Grimsby Town Supporters Club are thinking of running transport to the away pre-season friendlies.

    Tue 17th July Grantham Town
    Sat 21st July Farsley Celtic
    TBC Lincoln City

If there's enough demand they will put on transport. Anyone interested should ring Terry Hall on 07716094444 to either book your seat or for information on away travel.
