Grimsby v Macclesfield Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 07/03/2014

Scott Neilson (metatarsal), Joe Colbeck (ankle) and Paddy McLaughlin are all ruled out or doubtful for the clash with Macclesfield, leaving Paul Hurst with very few wide options. Hurst may have to play a full back or a striker in one of the wing positions, with no new loan signings expected.

The only fit winger is Alex Rodman, who could play on the right, with perhaps Aswad Thomas pushed up to a midfield role from his normal left back position.

Macclesfield, like Grimsby, have been struggling for consistency recently, and have won 3 out of the last 6 games, and lost the other 3. The Silkmen are currently in the middle of the table, but like many clubs, are still within reach of the play-offs.

On loan Tranmere striker Akpo Sodje is expected to return after missing the defeat at Welling.
