Grimsby v Eastleigh Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 09/04/2016

GRIMSBY face Eastleigh today in another clash of the play-off contenders and a repeat of last year's semi-final. Town had a huge confidence boost with the 4-3 win at Aldershot on Tuesday, but concerns will have been raised by the number of goals conceded recently.

Omar Bogle will be one of the first names on the team sheet for many Town supporters after his pivotal role in Tuesday night's second half performance following his introduction from the bench at half time. However Paul Hurst is the decision maker and Bogle hasn't had many starts since the turn of the year.

Pat Hoban and Andy Monkhouse came off at half time at Aldershot with "knocks" but the first half performance of the team won't encourage Paul Hurst to restore them to the starting line-up.

Marcus Marshall, Ryan Jennings and Jon-Paul Pittman all featured for the reserves on Tuesday so could stake a claim for a place on the bench, although with Town's large squad nobody is guaranteed to make the team sheet at all..

Eastleigh's main doubt is defender Luke Coulson (ankle).

Town have a good record against the big-spending South coast team. The Mariners have beaten Eastleigh in all five games to date with an aggregate scoreline of 9-2.
