Grimsby Win at Mansfield

GRIMSBY bounced back from their defeat to Crewe with a 1-0 win at Mansfield. The Mariners had to defend for long periods of the game, but Omar Bogle's first half penalty proved to be the only goal of the game.

Grimsby had chances to extend their lead in the second half, but the defence stayed solid and one goal proved enough.

Paul Hurst made two chances, Danny Collins made his debut in central defence in place of Josh Gowling and Kayden Jackson replacing Shaun Tuton in attack.

The only goal came on 17 minutes when Bogle was brought down inside the box in a clumsy chellenge by the 'keeper. Bogle himself took the spot kick and stroked the ball calmy down the middle of the goal.

Chambers and Jackson both had good chances in the second half, and Pearson should have hit the target with a free header from a corner, but the main plaudits will go to Town's rearguard who kept their first clean sheet since the opening day of the season.
