Brian Laws1994/95-1996/9736 (16)3 goals

Brian Laws First of all, as a player Laws was good and sometimes his top-flight experience showed, but he was starting to get over the hill. This was all too evident in our first game of the 96/97 season vs Wolves when he gave two goals away, and by then he had worked out that John McDermott was a much better right back than himself.

Now on to his managerial skills'..Well, what can I say' He started well, finishing 10th in his first season. The next season looked better when we got as high as second in the league, after his signing of Italian Ivano Bonetti. But then, he decided to throw a plate of chicken at the star player, injuring him and his relationship with the Italian.

This incident coupled with his signings of useless 'rough diamonds' (such as Vance Warner and Ashley Fickling), sent Town plummeting down the table to finish 17th.The next season he sold Town's best player, made a very good (but inexperienced) 22-year-old as Captain, bought a couple of very dodgy players and said we'd be pushing for the play-offs! Bad move Brian!

By November, we were bottom of the league and Laws was sacked, and eventually we were relegated with the team that he despairingly tried to build. Now, he's manager of Town's-arch rivals Scunny United! Enough Said.
