Groves & Rodger Will Be In Charge Next Season!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 12/03/2002

PAUL Groves and Graham Rodger have been told they will be in charge of Grimsby Town next season even if the club are relegated says the Grimsby Telegraph report. Chairman Peter Furneaux said he wants the pair to stay on and continue the work they have started since taking over from Lennie Lawrence.

The report continues: "The board have been impressed with Groves since he became manager and want him and Rodger to sign new deals in the summer.

Groves still has a year left on his current playing contract while Rodger is on a four-month leave of absence from his job in the Football in the Community office.

The pair jumped at the chance to take the reins when Lawrence was axed, but will now want assurances they will be given time to turn things around at Blundell Park."
