Who will win League 2?

Grimsby Town Sign New Striker!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 27/03/2002

GRIMSBY TOWN have announced that Willie Falconer and Carl Leaburn will be playing in the Mariners' reserve team today and that Paul Groves is to sign Falconer on a short-term contract

This does not count against loan signings, and Manager Paul Groves has a further option of securing another loan if he needs to in the next 24 hours.

Falconer rose through the ranks of Alex Ferguson's great Aberdeen side of the early to mid 80s. He later moved to England where he played in midfield for Watford, Middlesborough and Sheffield United. He returned north to Celtic in 1994. At the age of 30, he embarked upon a new career as a striker, and continued to claim his fair share of goals. Falconer has been a striker for St Johnstone, the Scottish Premier side, having been transferred from Dundee.

D.O.B.: 05/04/1966
Height: 1.86 m (6'1")
Weight: 83 kg (13st 61b)

Carl Leaburn

Leaburn

Wimbledon signed Leaburn from Charlton and one front that Leaburn cannot be faulted on, is his unstinting effort - he may not be the most prolific striker, but he scores plenty of points for sheer effort.

After leaving Wimbledon he went to various clubs including QPR where he is now.

Position: Defender
D.O.B: March 30, 1969
Height: 6'3"
