Coup For Mariners

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 02/05/2003

GRIMSBY Town Football Club are about to announce the details of the largest sponsorship deal in the club's history. The new sponsors, JARVIS, the Facilities Management group, will be releasing details of the three year sponsorship at a press conference at 2.00pm today.

Mariners Net said that Jarvis are no strangers to the club having have sponsored specific games at Blundell Park over the course of the past two seasons and are looking to further cement the relationship.

As Town have been relegated to Division Two, the sponsorship package will include success based financial incentives to the club.

Club chairman, Peter Furneaux, said; "On behalf of Grimsby Town Football Cub, I am delighted to announce the Official Club Sponsorship deal with Jarvis."

"The contract is for a period of three years and the six figure sum involved makes it the largest sponsorship agreement in Grimsby Town's history."

"After a long and difficult season, this announcement gives the club a huge boost and we are extremely pleased to be developing our business relationship with Jarvis in this manner."

"This season Jarvis have been Executive Box Holders at Blundell Park, and this new contract moves our partnership on to a whole new level. The Club looks forward to a long and successful association with Jarvis and we wish to thank them most sincerely for their support and faith in Grimsby Town's future." END

This is a major coup for the Mariners and the staff at the club at a time when it was so badly needed.

More details later.
