Where will Grimsby be next season?

Jason Crowe Returns To BP Plus Two Italians!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 28/07/2003

JASON Crowe is reported back at Blundell Park saying he would be happy to move from his home in Hampshire to Grimsby in order to find a home in football!

Talking to Mariners Net he said; "I would be happy to move to Grimsby, anything to get playing again."

"I was playing regularly for Portsmouth but I picked up a nasty foot injury. I'm okay now though and I am looking to get playing again. I'm playing at Halifax tomorrow and we'll see how it goes from there."

Two Italians Paolo (a striker) and Alessio (a defender), both from Torino, will also be training at Blundell Park this week with a view to seeking a deal.

Town have not had an Italian playing for them since Ivano Bonetti who one remembers was a great Grimsby hero!

A former trainee at Highbury, Jason signed professional there in May 1996. With first-team chances at Arsenal at a premium Jason went on loan at Crystal Palace originally.

Arsenal were reluctant to release the youngster permanently but Jason decided to take the chance to advance his career via the first division at Fratton Park. Following a loan spell at Brentford before Christmas during the 2000/01 season.

Jason successfully returned to the Pompey first team and was subsequently in great form in their central defence.
