New Players Soon?

RUSSELL Slade is hoping to make an announcement this week about new players coming into the club. In the meantime he is talking to Greg Young and Graham Hockless about their new deals.

Slade told the Grimsby Telegraph that Hockless has had an increased offer made to him. He has not yet had the opportunity to talk Phil Jevons.

"I would think that there will be some news on the new player front this week for sure. I am close to tying up a couple of players and talking with several others. I have also spoken with Graham Rodger about those who were here last year and we are very close to securing the services of Greg Young for next season."

"I am waiting to speak with both Phil Jevons and Graham Hockless - but Graham has been offered a slight increase on his first offer and I'm waiting to hear from him."

"It is a busy time as we look at players who have been released and others who I feel would help us next year. There are a few out there who I have identified but it's a case of getting them tied up as soon as possible so we are ready for the new season."
