Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

We Have Enough To Worry About!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 02/11/2004

ASHLEY Sestanovich has apologised to Russell Slade for his walk out on Saturday. Sestanovich left the club when he found he was on the bench against Swansea.

Slade has already given his views on this and adds that Sestanovich has a lot of explaining to do.

It is hoped that the problem will be resolved today when the squad turn up for training and if it is resolved, it should be left there.

There are various views on this issue, some want to sack him immediately, some want him fined and others, like me, see it as a storm in a tea cup. Not that we are condoning what he did. He was wrong, very wrong in fact, but it should not be allowed to fester and become a major issue detracting everyone from the more important challenges that face us.

From what Russell Slade said, it appears he is treating it as a disciplinary breach that will be handled in house. A sensible approach, he has more important matters in hand.

Sestanovich also appears to have recovered his cool and tendered his apology. A sensible move on his part, it would be a pity to see his career ruined by a dummy spat.

Attention now should be focussed on the coming game against our archrivals Scunthorpe United who are leading the way in this league and will be a formidable foe on Saturday.

So any in-house problems should be sorted today and then forgotten. Incidents such as this are too unimportant to get in the way of the main aim. Promotion to League 1. (AKA the third division!)
