Signed on loan from Barnsley as they used him as the "bait" to take Boulding to Oakwell. Rankin scored within 5 minutes of his debut against Brighton and went on to score in a few more games at the end of the season. Following our relegation he was apparently offered a two year deal but opted for a move to League 1/Division 2 club Brentford.
