Graham Hockless

Technically the best footballer of late at GTFC. Woefully underused by a succession of managers.

Broke into the side in September 2003 with a number of excellent performances, after which he mysteriously disappeared for 5 months. On his comeback at Notts Co he was the best player on the park before Nicky Law took charge and preferred to play wasters like John Thorrington.

Hockless was linked with a move to hometown club Hull in the summer of 2004 but signed a new deal at Town and was expected to play a big part in Russell Slade's new regime. Instead Slade didn't fancy him and packed him off on loan to Conference no hope hoofers Leigh R.M.I.

Finally, due to injuries, given a chance in February where he started 3 league games in a row on the left wing. He was hardly brilliant but performed no worse than anyone else. But again he was ostracised and Slade showed his own ineptitude by playing Fleming on the right of midfield in a 4-4-2 and playing Crowe (yes, that's right a full back) behind the front 2 in a 3-4-1-2 formation. Both positions would have suited Hockless to a tee.

Instead he was left to rot and his future in the game is on shaky ground.

Next Player: Chris Bolder
