Dad's Army

CORPORAL Slade brings us the latest news from the GTFC Regiment training at the army's Waterbeach station. So far no one has been placed on jankers or been put in the glasshouse and no one has been shot yet!.

On Mariners Net, Russell Slade says that despite a gruelling schedule for his players at army camp, they have done really well and the spirits are high.

They had another busy day on Wednesday, a rigorous swimming competition in the morning, followed by some football work and a game against an army side in the afternoon.

Speaking from the Waterbeach Station camp today, Slade told us: "The lads have done really well so far.

"They have had some tough training and they are feeling it a bit. "There are no injuries but there are a few players with aching legs," he said. "It was a good work out this afternoon.

"The game today gave us a chance to see the new lads in action."Despite being away from the club this week, Slade's search for more player has continued. "We are still looking for that 2 or 3 players," he said. "There is plenty of time, we don't need to rush.
