Marcel Cas 2003/0415 (8)3 goals

Was one of the first signings made at the start of 2003/2004 season. Dutchman Marcel Cas was no stranger to the English game: he had already spent time with Notts County and Sheffield United before his free transfer to Grimsby.

Right winger Cas started brightly and put in some strong performances, but was oddly rotated with right back Jason Crowe, and both admitted they did not like their new positions. Marcel stated after leaving Grimsby "I am midfielder not a defender" Despite some impressive performances, Cas was not shown the appreciation he deserved, especially by manager Paul Groves.

His frustration grew until the pair fell out and Cas was told he could leave 5 months into his Grimsby career. He returned to Holland straight away, and after a few trials he signed for RBC Roosendaal where he remains.
