GRIMSBY Town Football Club have been handing out leaflets at home games for fans to sign to enable the club to measure the support for a new stadium.

The club said the stadium will secure the future of the football club and represent a substantial investment in Grimsby creating more than 350 new jobs for local people, as well as work during construction.

James Kirby, from the new stadium office for GTFC, told the Grimsby Telegraph; "The aim is to see what level of support we have among our supporters for the move. Plans for the move are in the very early stages."

"We are looking to make a planning application in the near future and as part of that we will have positive and negative support for the scheme."

The Telegraph reports that the club has produced 20,000 leaflets and has received 1,500 back, showing support.

So far, the club has given leaflets out at two home games and will continue to do so until they run out. End
