ALAN Buckley in his post match comments seemed to disagree with the fans who went to the game, some of whom were saying that the performance was abysmal.

But Buckley said; "I can't complain about the work rate but it's a shame that we couldn't give them a game. At eleven against eleven I would have fancied us the way we started."

"It obviously got too much for us in the end."

"We started with our normal 4-4-2 and I thought we made a good start. The one touch and two touch passing was terrific and our approach play was very good, and it's probably our best start since Accrington Stanley."

"The first goal was totally against the run of play. We conceded a corner. It was a crazy goal to concede. We dusted ourselves down and got going again."

"I have no complaints about the penalty, the referee's sent him off for handball. Apparently the player tells me that when they first approached him he said it's a penalty and a yellow card. What made him change his mind I don't know."

"We re-arranged the team with ten men early, but we did get playing.The second goal came, a great cross and he's finished it well for two-nil. Crofty pulled a hip/ thigh at half time and that meant another adjustment to the team. We went to 4-3-2, we went 3-3-3 to try and get something from the game. "

"The one thing the players didn't do was jack it in. We kept going and kept working and they never got themselves a break."
