Stacy Coldicott

Coldicott was brought to Blundell Park for £125K by Alan Buckley in July 1998, he made 189 league appearances and 32 as sub, scoring four goals.

Buckley signed Coldicott from his previous club West Brom, and was not popular at first because of the Baggies' connection, but his popularity changed when he scored in the famous 5-1 demolition of the Baggies

A midfielder Stacy was nicknamed the 'Yard Dog' by Paul Groves because of his tendency to chase down attacking players and not give in to a lost cause. Not remembered as a flamboyant player, he was known for his careful passing and his tidying up in midfield. He always gave his all and that was appreciated by the Mariners' faithful.
