Frenchman Handed Trial

GRIMSBY have handed a trial to former Gretna midfielder Mickael Buscher, who is a free agent. If the trial is successful Town would be able to sign the 21-year-old before the January transfer window opens, as he is not affiliated with any club.

Buscher, who was made redundant by the Scottish club when they fell into financial difficulties last season, has recently failed to persuade Scottish Premier League side Hearts to offer him a contract, and he is therefore looking for a new club.

The Frenchman can either play as an attacking midfielder or up front, and has previously played for French club Nice.

Mike Newell is currently in the process of scouring the country in an attempt to get some new players to join Grimsby's squad as the Mariners have not win for over eight months.
