Grimsby v Brentford Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 03/03/2009

ON-LOAN Charlton midfielder Dean Sinclair has returned to the Addicks with a hamstring injury. With Saturday's game against Lincoln due to be Sinclair's last it's uncertain whether the Londoner will play for or even train with Grimsby again.

Danny Boshell is likely to get the nod to replace Sinclair.

Town's only other absentee is utility man Chris Llewellyn who is serving the second game of a three-match ban after his sending off against Morecambe.

Grimsby boss Mike Newell is likely to field French striker Akpro from the start after a long injury lay-off. Town have not won since Akpro was last in the side for 90 minutes, when they won two games on the trot against then leaders Wycombe and then Rotherham the following week.

Brentford manager Andy Scott will choose from an unchanged squad. Brentford have won their last three league games, and currently sit top of League Two.

Brentford crushed Grimsby 4-0 in the first away game of the season, but Town have a good record against the Bees ate Blundell Park. The South London side have last every game they have played in Cleethorpes for the last twenty years.

In a full League Two programme tonight, Town's relegation rivals Bournemouth, Chester and Barnet are also playing, and Grimsby cannot afford to lose further ground.

Town (expected) Henderson - Clarke, Bennett, Atkinson, Newey - Jarman, Boshell, Kalala, Hegarty - Akpa Akpro, Forbes
