Town Have a Score to Settle

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 04/10/2010

GRIMBY have not won 3-1 for almost five years (11/11/2005 against Macclesfield at home), even though historically it is the 11th most common score in a Grimsby game. Two other common scores 1-1 and 0-1 have not been seen in over six months either.

The full table of scores can be seen below. The most common scores are the lowest: 1-1, 1-0 and 0-1. The most common score not seen so far this century is a 5-2 defeat, followed by 3-4. The most unusual score in recent times in the 6-5 win over Burnley in 2002; Town previously won by that scoreline just once in 1932 against West Brom.
