Town to Appoint Joint Managers

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 22/03/2011

BOSTON management duo Rob Scott and Paul Hurst have resigned from the Pilgrims and are expected to be shortly named as joint Grimsby managers. The pair have had success with Ilkeston and more recently Boston United where they have been since May 2009.

Boston issued the following statement today: "The directors of Boston United have confirmed that joint first team managers Rob Scott and Paul Hurst have resigned from their roles at the football club with immediate effect".

Grimsby have never had joint managers before. Several teams have tried it in the past, but it is not a formula noted for its success in football. But clearly Scott and Hurst have been successful at a lower level, and the GTFC board must believe they can make it work in a higher division with a bigger club.
