Atko Swaps Haddock for Cod

DEFENDER Rob Atkinson has swapped Haddock for Cod, joining Fleetwood Town after being released by the Mariners in the summer. Atkinson is one of the players Town signed whilst in the Football League, but failed to agree terms on a new deal at Grimsby and was eventually released.
The big-spending west coast side, who many pundits fancy to improve upon their record of last season's status of losing semi-finalists in the play-offs, have made Atkinson their eighth new signing this summer.
Atkinson had expressed a desire to return to the Football League. Clearly the central defender, who was capped at the England 'C' level whilst at Town, has settled instead for the Cod Army's ambitions to do just that.
