Grimsby v Forest Green Team News

SELF-CONFESSED Grimsby supporter Peter Winn has joined the Mariners on loan until the end of the season from League One side Stevenage. The Grimsby-born winger, who was turned down aged 10 by Grimsby's School of Excellence, is hoping he can help Town to get their promotion campaign back on track.

The aptly named Winn will be competing for a place in an extremely competitive midfield at Blundell Park, although he can also play up front or at left back. Frankie Artus is back in contention again after his recent injury, and the bosses have to decide whether to continue with Church in central midfield or recall Thanoj, who was rested for the defeat at league leaders Fleetwood. Winn has not had much recent match time at Stevenage so may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Other than that Town have a full squad to pick from and the remaining places will probably be as per usual.

Though Grimsby's 15-match unbeaten run is over, the Mariners were not disgraced at Fleetwood, where they deserved a point, and there is plenty of points still to play for in the remaining 12 games - almost a quarter of the season remains.

Forest Green are just below Town in the table and have an impressive recent record so it is likely to be an extremely competitive game against a side still with an outside chance of a play-off spot. They have not lost since January.

Rovers have several players who have just come back from injury. Chris Todd, James Rowe, Curtis McDonald and Reece Styche are all pressing for a place in the side.
