Grimsby v Kidderminster Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 19/12/2013

GRIMSBY hope to make it Lucky Thirteen tonight in the televised clash with high-flying Kidderminster. The Mariners have gone on a 12-match unbeaten run in all competitions since losing at Salisbury over two months ago, but they'll have to overcome their biggest bogey side in recent times to make it to 13.

Grimsby and Kidderminster have met 7 times since the Mariners dropped into non-league and Town have failed to win any of the games, losing 4 and drawing 3. Harriers though , weakened by injuries to key players, have lost their last two games to Alfreton and Woking, so it may be a good time for Town to break their hoodoo.

The Mariners have no injury worries for the visit of the third places side, who Grimsby will go above if they win the clash, which could be watched my millions of viewers on BT Sport.

Paul Hurst is likely to return to his "league" side that salvaged a point in the previous game against Welling. However some of the players who came in for the FA Trophy win at Barnet will be pressing for a place against Kidderminster. Striker Dayle Southwell has also come on and scored as a substitute in his last two outings, and bagged a hat trick in a rare start at Coalville, so he'll be one hoping for a place in the starting XI.

Kidderminster will be without striker Amari Morgan-Smith and midfielder Callum Gittings (both suspended), though right-back Lee Vaughan has just completed a one-game suspension. Midfielder Jack Byrne (hamstring) faces a fitness test after missing last weekend's defeat.
