Grimsby v Hereford Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 11/03/2014

NEW signing Andrew Boyce is expected to go straight into the starting line-up against Hereford tonight at Blundell Park. The defender, who agreed a season-long loan from Scunthorpe, can play at right back or in the centre.

With Clayton McDonald and Chris Doig ruled out, the likelihood is that Boyce will partner Shaun Pearson in the centre of Town's defence.

Jamal Fyfield and Scott Neilson (metatarsal) are both doubts, but Joe Colbeck (ankle) and Oumare Tounkara are definitely ruled out.

Hereford are slowly inching their way to safety after a yo-yo season that has seen them flirt with both promotion and relegation. The Bulls initially were one of the pace setters at the start of the season, but they fell away in the autumn and have no hopes of getting in the play-offs now. Prior to Saturday's draw at Braintree, Hereford had lost the prior five games, so they will have to improve their rate of accruing points if they are not to get sucked into the relegation battle. They need another dozen points from their last 11 games to ensure survival.

Hereford are not expected to make any changes from the side which drew at Braintree, as they have a long injury list including former Town striker Michael Rankine.
