Town Continue Winning Run
By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 18/07/2015
GRIMSBY continued their 100% record in pre-season games with a 3-1 victory at Gainsborough Trinity, but Town needed two late goals to make sure of victory after a second half equaliser from the home side.
Craig Clay had given Grimsby an early lead, but Marc Newsham levelled the match in the second-half. Then two late goals from substitute Padraig Amond ensured Grimsby retained their winning record in the warm-up games, and continued Amond's impressive scoring streak since joining the club. Omar Bogle returned to action as a sub after missing out on the last couple of matches.
Town: Warrington, Sunter, Gowling, Nsiala, East, Mackreth, Clifton, Clay, Monkhouse, Pittman, Arnold
Subs: Venney, Amond, Bogle, Tait, Marshall
