Fishy Verdict:29-year-old Brown has previously played for a long list of clubs mainly in his native North West, including Chester, Morecambe and Fleetwood, and he also spent three years at Bristol City. Runcorn-born Brown started playing football in the Everton youth system. Last season Brown captain Southport, who finished in the bottom seven clubs but Grimsby only managed to take a point off the part-timers. Brown has played football for England at schoolboy level and also U-19.
