Grimsby v Gateshead Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 06/10/2015

PAUL Hurst has a full squad to pick from for the home match with Gateshead tonight, one of the teams above Grimsby in the National League table. Nathan Arnold is available again after time off to come to terms with the death of his mother and Scott Brown (ankle) is back to full training.

Hurst has left his two leading scorers Bogle and Amond on the bench in recent games, partly though fitness, partly though rotation and partly to make Grimsby harder to beat. However one or both are possibles to start with Tomlinson looking the most likely to miss out.

The Town boss has options all over the park if he feels the need to change things, and Hurst is certainly not frightened of making changes if he feels some players are more suited to the opposition than others.

South African Midfielder Matty Pattison (calf), striker Danny Johnson (abdomen) and Winger Josh Gillies (shoulder) are all rated doubtful for the visitors.

Town need to win the game to gain ground on the teams above them. The Mariners are on a seven match unbeaten run but a lot of draws have not seen Grimsby gain much ground on the teams above them.
