Transfer Deadline Latest

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 31/01/2018

GRIMSBY have been busy on transfer deadline day. Firstly Forest Green Rovers have signed Chris Clements on loan until the end of the season. Clements has barely featured for Town this season and has spent two months on loan at Barrow in the National League.

The clubs have agreed that Clements will not be able to play when the two sides meet on the final day of the season, which could turn into an inverse of the play-off final if both clubs are battling for relegation come the final weekend of the season.

Town have made a signing, with Walsall striker Simeon Jackson joining the Mariners on loan for the rest of the season. Town now have twelve strikers in their squad.

Manager Russell Slade looks to have somehow escaped the sack.

In another development Villa defender, Easah Suliman has joined Town on loan for the rest of the season. The 20-year-old central defender has captained the England football side at Under-16, Under-17, and Under-19 levels, but has never played a first-team game.

In a late development, striker Sam Jones joined League One Shrewsbury for an undisclosed fee.
