Lincoln v Grimsby Team News

STRIKER Gary McSheffrey has signed until the end of the season. The 35-year-old free agent last played with Eastleigh in the National League but left last year because of family commitments. McSheffrey has played for Coventry, Birmingham and Scunthorpe, but has not played regularly for two years.

In other team news striker Mallik Wilks (hamstring) is fit again but Luke Summerfield, Paul Dixon, Karleigh Osborne and Simeon Jackson are all doubtful. Loan striker Charles Vernam (knee) is ruled out for the rest of the season and has returned to Derby, where he will undergo an operation on his knee.

Lincoln skipper Luke Waterfall is suspended after the was sent off in the 1-1 draw at Mansfield. However, fellow defender James Wilson returns after recovering from an ankle injury..

City lie just below the play-offs in eighth place having at one time looked like they might be in with a chance of automatic promotion. The Imps realistically will be aiming for a play-off spot, which would be a successful start to their first season at this level.

Grimsby have no form at all, but Michael Jolley has had another week to work with his players and the injury time equaliser, albeit undeserved, against Port Vale at least gave a positive end to the previous game. Lincoln have only won 2 of the last 10 meetings between the sides and Grimsby will be happy to pick up at least a point.
