Newport v Grimsby Team News

GRIMSBY head to Newport against draws against two of the favourites for promotion. County have started the season strongly and won both their home games, and have former Town strikers Jamille Matt and Padraig Amond on their books.

Midfielder Mitch Rose, once of Newport, returns after a three-match suspension. However, left-back Paul Dixon himself starts a ban after being sent off at MK Dons on Tuesday. Luke Hendrie or fit-again Andrew Fox could come into the side.

Danny Collins, Reece Hall-Johnson and Harry Cardwell are all ruled out through injury.

Newport captain, midfielder Andrew Crofts (toe), has missed the last three games but has a chance of returning. Midfielder Robbie Willmott (hamstring) is the only player definitely ruled out.

Grimsby have a poor record against Newport. County did the double over Town last season and they also beat the Mariners in both legs in the play-offs in 2013. Town have not won away at Newport since the 1970s.
