A Busy Window

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 31/01/2019

GRIMSBY have signed Notts County striker Kristian Dennis on loan until the end of the season. The 28-year-old has struggled to find the net this season at Meadow Lane in a struggling side but last season scored 21 goals for Chesterfield who spent all season in the bottom two and were eventually relegated.

Dennis was highly regarded despite Chesterfield's poor form and was given the No. 9 shirt in a big summer move to County. However, the Nottingham club have gone backwards this year and Dennis has a chance to prove himself at Blundell Park.

Despite the poor County stats, Dennis has an impressive overall professional record of 105 goals in 264 games which is far higher than anyone else at Blundell Park and higher than Omar Bogle or Padraig Amond in terms of goals per game.

Dennis completes a busy transfer window for Grimsby who had seen the arrival of defenders Sebastian Ring and Ludvig Ohman. Joe Grayson and Kristian Dennis have signed on loan while Luke Hendrie has made his loan move from Shrewsbury permanent. Moving in the other direction are Mitch Rose (on loan to Notts County), Andrew Fox (left for the USA) and Akin Famewo (signed for Norwich City so his loan ended).
