Grimsby v Newport Team News

GRIMSBY'S match with Newport in the FA Cup is still on target to go ahead at the weekend, although the following week's league match with the same side has been called off due to international call-ups.

There had been speculation that Saturday's game would be called off due to a waterlogged pitch, the fate of Grimsby's last two league home games. However despite heavy rain in recent times the match is still currently on, and no further heavy rain is forecast.

Town will be with Charles Vernon as the striker has joined National League side Chorley on a one-month loan. Town also have doubts over injured full back Luke Hendrie and winger Max Wright.

Former Town striker Padraig Amond is expected to be in the starting line-up to face his former club, but fellow striker Ade Azeez (Achilles) and defender Mickey Demetriou (broken leg) are still absent with long-term injuries.
