Eleven Players Released

GRIMSBY Town have released 11 players from their squad, and with five loan players going back to their clubs, it leaves just 14 confirmed players at the club, some of whom saw limited action next season.

Consequently, the Mariners will be signing many new names over the summer.

The players released include some familiar names like Holohan, Glennon, Eisa, Maher and Amos. Also let go are Gnahoua, Khan, Tomlinson, Essel, Braithwaite and Bramwell.

The following players still under contract are: Jake Eastwood, Toby Mullarkey, Harvey Rodgers, Doug Tharme, Evan Khouri, Curtis Thompson, Charles Vernam, Donovan Wilson, Rekeil Pyke, Danny Rose, Alex Hunt, and Cameron Gardner. Talks are still ongoing with Harry Clifton, Denver Hume and Callum Ainley. Two players signed up are Kieran Green who has had an option to extend his contract taken up, and former youth player Harvey Cribb who has been offered his first one-year professional contract.

The on-loan players who have returned to their clubs are: Liam Smith (Cheltenham Town), Jamie Andrews (West Bromwich Albion), Harvey Cartwright (Hull City), Harry Wood (Hull City), Justin Obikwu (Coventry City).

Town recruited poorly last summer and the side that finished the season was very different to that which started it. Obviously, the club have a different manager now, and it's hoped that lessons are learned and it's Third Year Lucky in League Two for the Mariners in 2024-25.
