Both Keepers Released

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 07/05/2025

GRIMSBY have released seven players, including both goalkeepers. Keeper Jordan Wright has a year left on his contract but is available for transfer.

Denver Hume, who is free to pursue other clubs, is the only player not already signed and offered a new deal.

Grimsby finished 9th, higher than was expected, and were in a play-off spot entering the finishing straight only to tail off at the end. Much of the team has been retained and the club will be trying to emulate the achievement, and hopefully better it. Recruitment is key and Hume would be a great start!

The following players have been released at the end of their current deals:

  • Jake Eastwood
  • Callum Ainley
  • Curtis Thompson
  • Harvey Cribb
  • Rekeil Pyke
  • Donovan Wilson

The following players are available for transfer:

  • Jordan Wright
  • Matty Carson

That leaves a squad of roughly 14 players, with the 4 loan players having departed.

  • Tyrell Warren
  • Lewis Cass
  • Cameron McJannet
  • Jason Daði Svanþórsson
  • Darragh Burns
  • Géza Dávid Turi
  • Harvey Rodgers
  • Doug Tharme
  • Evan Khouri
  • Kieran Green
  • Charles Vernam
  • Danny Rose
  • Cameron Gardner
  • George McEachran

Roughly 10 new players will need to be signed in time for the new season starting with goalkeepers an obvious priority!
