Sonny Finch Joins Town

GRIMSBY have signed 21-year-old striker Sonny Finch from National League North side South Shields for an undisclosed fee. Finch started last season with Middlesbrough, and joined South Shields on loan before signing a 2.5 year deal with South Shields (also called The Mariners).
Town have bought Finch from their namesake, South Shields and handed him a three-year contract. Finch has played a total of 28 games, 4 for Boro, and scored 8 goals. He also represented England at U17 and U18 levels, winning 10 caps.
South Shields finished second in a competitive league and lost in the play-off final to Kidderminster.
Town will be hoping to strengthen their squad further in the remainder of the August transfer window.
