Buckley: No New Signings

News From 21st March 2000

Town Boss Alan Buckley has warned fans not to expect any new signings at Blundell Park before Thursday's FA transfer deadline.

Buckley ruled out any last minute moves for new players, saying that the club will have to utilise the current squad for the remainder of the season, in which Town still need another 3 or 4 points to ensure First Division football can be seen at Blundell Park next season.

Buckley added that with both of his favoured strike combination of Lee Ashcroft and Bradley Allen currently injured, the priority was to get those two back to match fitness.

"If we could get Lee Ashcroft and Bradley Allen fit that would be like signing two players to me," said Buckley in his best footie-speak mode.
