Gareth Taylor who is valued at 350,000 pounds by Man City declined an offer to play for the Mariners on loan. Lee Peacock another Man City player Buckley was also interested in looks like moving to Bristol Rovers for a 600,000 pound fee.
Michael Jeffrey may be Alan Buckley's last option to sign a new player before the season starts. With the season only a few days away, Buckley may well need to sign a player quickly and Jeffery, from Kilmarnock, who is presently on a trial with the Mariners appears to be the only candidate left. Jeffrey who impressed at the friendly with Scunthorpe may now sign a deal with Alan Buckley to join the Mariners.
