Hux On Steward

Town Vice Chairman Bryan Huxford has responded to the events on Saturday when one of Gillingham's most fervent supporters was ejected from the game by stewards after he jokingly went in goal at half-time and amused Gills fans by saving shots from Matt Bryant who was warming up with a beach ball
Huxford has responded to the incident on Saturday which both sets of fans enjoyed until a Grimsby steward decided the fans' behaviour was illegal and escorted him and his friends off the pitch, and ejected them all from the ground.
Huxford speaking yesterday in response to an e-mail complaint from a Gillingham fan said:
"Thank you for bringing to our attention your concerns regarding the approach adopted by stewards of this club at the recent game with Gillingham.
"I am equally sorry that as a result of certain actions you found it necessary to register your dissatisfaction over the handling of a certain incident.
"Please be advised that I have today taken steps to obtain from our 'Ground safety officer' full details regarding the incident and I will respond to you further once I have the report to hand.
"Once again many thanks for bringing the matter to our attention."
